Introducing Mitsubishi Electric's Standard GS Series Heat Pump

Aug 05, 2022

The very successful G Series High Wall Heat Pumps return to Mitsubishi Electric's lineup with their launch of the GS Series. With 6 capacities ranging from 2.5-8kW, a great list of features and made for New Zealand conditions, it's easy to see why its fast become a popular choice.

The GS has high energy efficiency with high COPs providing superior efficiency and savings. For example, a COP of over 3 means that for every 1kW of power input, you get over 3kW of heat energy output.

Model Name EER COP
MSZ-GS25VFD-A1 4.24 3.97
MSZ-GS35VFD-A1 3.68 3.94
MSZ-GS50VFD-A1 3.6 3.85
MSZ-GS60VFD-A1 3.61 3.88
MSZ-GS71VFD-A1 3.24 3.64
MSZ-GS80VFD-A1 3.25 3.53

The series has been designed with some improved physical features such as larger high density heat exchangers, larger internal coil surface, higher efficiency fan motors and comes with the latest R32 refrigerant (more environmentally friendly than other refrigerant alternatives).

Low Temperature Performance

Designed in Japan with New Zealand temperatures in mind, the GS Series has superior heat pump technology. They perform very well in low temperature conditions which we experience here in Canterbury.

Quiet Operation

Mitsubishi Electric are known for their quiet operating heat pumps and the GS Series is no exception. The GS25 and GS35 start at a hushed 22dBA on their lowest fan speed setting making them a good option for bedrooms as well as living spaces.

Compact Chassis Sizes

This series comes in 3 compact chassis sizes, giving great flexibility for installation options.

GS25-GS35: 798 x 219mm x 299mm

GS50-GS60: 923mm x 250mm x 305mm

GS71-GS80: 1100mm x 285mm x 325mm

Simple To Use Control Options

This controller has been stripped back to only having functions that are commonly required, making it exceptionally easy to use.

A great option for those who find complex controls cumbersome and a great proposition for property managers wanting to reduce the number of calls from tenants that can’t get the heat pump to work!

For more advanced control functions, optional Mitsubishi Electric Wi-Fi control is available and hands-free voice control via an Amazon Alexa or Google Home device.

Key Features

Next Generation R32 Inverter Technology

R32

Superior energy efficiency is achieved by incorporating a large, high-density heat exchanger, an advanced high-efficiency fan motor and a next-generation inverter compressor using the latest super-efficient R32 refrigerant.

Blue Fin Outdoor Coil Protection

R32

Slows the corrosion process on the heat exchanger, caused by salt and sulphur in the air, making it ideal for coastal and high sulphur areas.

Filtration For Cleaner Air

R32

The standard air purifying filter traps dust, pollen and other airborne contaminants while the optional washable Anti-Allergy Enzyme Filter effectively breaks down harmful microbes such as bacteria, mould and dust mites.

Econo Cool

R32

Econo Cool maximises energy efficient cooling. The target room temperature is automatically switched to Vertical Swing Vane Mode to create a cooling breeze effect.

Optional Plasma Quad Connect For Healthier Air

R32

This high-performance two-stage advanced air filtration module, cleans and minimises dust and other allergens for better indoor air quality, all year round.

12 Hour Programmable Controller
