Dale Finch: Inspiring Comeback in the King of Canterbury Race 2024

At The Heat Pump People, we love celebrating the dedication and resilience of our team members, both at work and in their personal lives. One story that stands out is Dale’s return to motorcycle racing. Dale works as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician for The Heat Pump People, but when he's not at work, you'll find him on the race track.
Bouncing Back from a Tough Break
Dale’s journey back to racing is truly inspiring. After a nasty accident last season, he wasn’t sure he’d race again. “After my accident last season, I wasn’t sure if I was going to race again. It scared me as the bike chucked me off and I didn’t really do anything wrong,” Dale shared. The crash left him with a concussion and a four-week break from racing, which was a tough pill to swallow for someone so passionate about the sport.
The pictures of the crash show how very serious it was.
A Fresh Start with Yamaha
Things took a turn for the better when Dale’s team, KMD, switched to Yamaha motorcycles. They invited him to try out the new bike, and he was instantly hooked. “The Yamaha has more power and handles very well,” Dale said. This new confidence in his bike reignited his love for racing.
Winning at Ruapuna
Dale’s comeback was nothing short of amazing. He competed in the second round of the King of Canterbury at Ruapuna and won all three races. His stellar performance has put him at the top of the championship standings, showing just how skilled and determined he is.
Looking Ahead
Dale’s story is a great reminder of the resilience and passion that drives our team at The Heat Pump People. His journey inspires us all to overcome challenges and aim for excellence, both on and off the track. We’re incredibly proud of Dale’s achievements and can’t wait to see him continue to lead the championship.
